Do I need a videographer at my wedding?

You might be thinking, do I need a videographer at my wedding? And I don’t blame you. Couples often wonder if a videographer is worth trying to fit into their budget, yet you would be hard pressed to find a couple who has not hired a photographer. When it comes down to it, every couple will have to decide if a wedding video is important to them. Here are the 4 main reasons I would highly recommend a wedding video:

1. Your vows, toasts and laughter can’t be photographed.

There is just something about being able to capture the sounds of your wedding day. From your partner’s laughter to your parents voices, there is so much emotion, love and memories held within their voices that a photograph just can’t capture.

2. To share with your family and friends who couldn’t make it

A wedding video is a great way to share your day with friends and family who couldn’t make it. Trust me, family and friends will be overjoyed when they get to watch your video and feel like they were there with you. But don’t just take my word for it, here is a quote from a recent bride:

Our wedding video was so incredibly special to Andy and I because Andy is from Australia and we got married in Canada. Although his parents were able to make the Canadian wedding - his sisters, friends and extended family could not. We decided the perfect way to include everyone in our Canadian wedding was to play our wedding video at our celebration in Australia. This was a huge surprise to our guests and was such a special moment sharing it with them. You could feel the love in the room and tears were even shed from many of our guests. - Anne-Marie Rousey

3. You can relive that day year after year

There are just some moments in your day you’ll want to relive again and again - like seeing your partner’s face as you walk down the aisle or hearing the love and emotion of your vows. Video has the ability to capture the emotion of the day while allowing you to relive your favourite moments. If a picture is worth a thousand words, video is worth a million.

I can honestly say I am so grateful Kayla captured our special day. The video is perfect. She is extremely skilled in choosing the content, sound, etc. We look forward to being able to watch our video and reminisce in the years to come. - Kristina Bauer

4. You will get to see things you didn’t even know happened
It’s so fun to be able to look back on some of the best moments of the day (and also see some you never even knew happened!) - Emma Davidson

When you are the bride or the groom in the wedding there is so much going on during the day, it is hard to soak it all in. Video allows you to see some of the amazing moments you may have forgotten or missed during the day. Like your mom’s reaction to seeing you in your dress for the first time or your guests’ reaction to your vows or even some of the amazing dance moves at the reception!

So there you have it - four reasons you should consider hiring a wedding videographer for your wedding.

I honestly didn’t realize how much I NEEDED a videographer until I saw our video. - Anne-Marie Rousey
