Let's be honest, it's hard to empathize with numbers. Data and statistics are helpful tools, but it can be difficult to look through data and see the real people beneath.
Stories allow us to empathize with real issues by exploring the personal narratives. It allows us to connect and sympathize with issues by understanding peoples' experience. That's what makes it so powerful.
In 2023, we brought CONTACT Community Service's work to life by exploring the stories of real people. We took real stories and tied it into the larger data, allowing us to create a powerful impact.
More Than an Organization
Helping people comes in many different shapes and forms. When we think of organizations helping people, we typically think of non-profits. However, that doesn't mean that other businesses aren't also creating positive impact in the world.
Take CrossFit N6 for instance. The primary service they offer is a 1 hour fitness class. However, once you begin talking to their members, you realize what they're offering is so much more than that. They have created a community where people can feel comfortable, supported and valued. They have positively impacted many people by improving both their physical and mental health.
By capturing and telling Jaclyn's story with empathy and feeling, the audience better relates to her experience and wants to learn more about CrossFit N6.
Compassion is at the core of what we do. We believe in elevating those who are making the world a better place.
KayMac Media sprouted from the goal to uplift others in my community who were creating a positive impact on the world. The ultimate goal is to share the stories of the organizations, communities, and people who are helping others. Every person has their own unique story and challenges and every one of us deserves to be treated equally and fairly.
